Figs in Reno

Hello to fig growers in Reno, Nevada, looking for 1 or 2 varieties that would do well in Reno ? Thanks,
Ficus

HERE are some ideas from Forum members.

It will depend on your temps and season length. I am guessing that you have the heat fro most anything, but maybe not a long enough season for some things.

Celeste is a basic fig, but very productive and very sweet - well suited to the warm climates.

Thanks JV,    Reno is zone 2B,

Hey ficus, I sent you a PM yesterday. I've been growing figs in Reno for about eight years now, sometimes successfully and sometimes not so successfully. I may be able to offer you some insight into the vagaries of fig growing in the high desert. It's not a walk in the park, but it can be done if you're willing to work at it.

Hey posturedoc I sent you a small box of cuttings today.

You're a good man, mgg, even when you've got one foot in the grave. Hope the stamina is on the way back to normal.

Thank you Posturedoc,
