Still want to know how they made those pressed fig cakes!

I think the pressed fig cakes were their way of tying the dry figs up for storage. When I buy seasonal dry blonde Turkish figs, they are always pressed out in a circular cake. My guess is that you start them drying a bit, press them and finish the drying process. Either that, or you could dry them and them press them gently to take a round shape. You know, I bet there is some info on the web!
