figs just arrived!

I just got my order of three baby fig trees this afternoon from Logee's Greenhouses in CT.  They look great.

No one ever seems to say much about "Ischia" figs.  Is there a reason??

I also got a dwarf everbearing mulberry.  I see others grow mulberries and talk about them here; any advice about a dwarf everbearing?

Tell us more about the plants that arrived. All the same? condition, etc? send some pictures if you can.

Home Depot near my house had "Ischia" trees a few months back.  But I have no idea if there were Green Ischia, White Ischia, Blue.. etc..   I'm thinking/hoping they are White Ischia.  I picked up a couple broken off limbs from when the wind had blown one over. Both rooted fine (took about 6 weeks) and both are in 2-gal pots now and doing very well.  They didn't have any problem transitioning from the humidity bin.

FuzzyMurrey...I'm always talking about my Ischia Green fig tree, to the point where folks are getting tired of hearing about it...it's about 7 yrs. old now, and it's my best producer(350+ figs last season)...the tree was given to me by a neighbor when it was the size of a pencil...first year in the ground it was almost eaten by a ground hog, but it survived...it was moved to a different spot in my back yard and it survived the up rooting...I take about 150 to 200 cuttings off it at the end of the season and trade them around, or simply gift them away...if you don't have a Green Ischia yet, then PM me at the end of the season(Oct. or Nov.)

The figs all arrived in healthy, sturdy form with virtually no damage.  The company packed them very well.  They were already leafed out, so I must wait before I can put them outside and I'll wait until next week to put them in larger pots.  The tall one is an unspecified "Ischia", the leaning over one is "Black Mission" and the smallest one is the "Hardy Chicago".  The little non-fig in the "fig forest" pictures is the new dwarf everbearing mulberry.  I don't know how to put pictures on here (I'd have to change the size or something like that) so I'm posting them on my farm blog and here's the link:  http://wilsonstreeturbanfarm.wordpress.com/2013/03/30/figs-arrived/

They look nice and healthy...best of luck.

Fuzzy,

I just realized that you're in Buffalo, NY. I go there in Aug. to work at the Erie Co. Fair and have a few fig friends in the area. Send me an email or PM and we can connect. I'm guessing you'd like to meet other fig friends in your area.
