Hi all ,

I have a number of trees with new growth with around 6 leaves per stem . Would the beginnings of figs be clearly visible at this time or do they grow in later ?
Also should I start pinching after 6 leaves or so now , or is it too early ?

John pinch away take that leader out it will force the embreyos to start to form it will also force branching.

The figs begin to form after the vegetative growth forms. Some varieties have figs beginning wit the first leaf node. Others seem to form their figs further up. You might want to pinch some branches and not others and see exactly where your tree forms fruit.
