Figs on the UVA campus

Friend was attending her daughter's graduation and saw this on the walk to the ceremony.  Jefferson founded UVA, curious about it, because Monticello has several types in its gardens, wonder what was planted at the university now.

The tree may be a hardy cultivar, Charlettesville has experienced temperatures down to -10F.

Very cool!  I'm just a couple hours away from UVA.

I have family in Charlottesville. I think the min temp this year was mid teens. I have seen green ischia at UVA, but looks different. Has nIce Breba

http://www.monticelloshop.org/books-monticello.html  I have this book, on page 26 or so it has a description of Jefferson history with figs and what he grew. The next time I am there I'll ask one of the professors who works on one of my projects
