Figs that Thrive in Nashville, TN and cuttings?

Hey all, I have been reading and searching on here a lot. It seems that I am still just far enough south that several varieties of figs do well. The popular ones I see a lot of about here seem to be:

Brown Turkey
Celeste
Texas Everbearing

I have red mixed reviews on the taste of Brown Turkey, and it seems that the southern variety is better than the California variety that is not thought highly of by most.

I would like to plant a few cuttings that will do well in my area and make a lot of delicious tasting figs. It seem that there are not a lot of fig growers in the area so I am not sure where to get some cutting from that will do well in the area.

I'm open to any help and suggestions, thanks!

While Brown Turkey may not be illustrious , dont let anyone try to fool you - its a fine fig for the South. Yes, the Southern version is better, but that is my opinion, haha

PM me and send me your address. I can provide you with some Improved Celeste , Brown Turkey, and LSU purple cuttings.  All will thrive and be very productive in your area.

Thanks for the offer and the quick reply! I sent you a message over.

I am in Chattanooga and suggest the Celeste for this area. I am convinced the so called TN Mountain fig is also a Celeste from what I have seen and tasted. It will do fine here and the figs will not be as large or as dark in color as a Celeste grown farther South. The Celeste is an excellent fig. In my case the Brown Turkey is not as proficient in growth or fruit production. In fact my Brown Turkey will be dug up and planted in a utility easement to feed the critters. It will be replaced with an LSU Purple. I planted it at the same time and size as the Celeste. The Celeste produced 50 figs last year....the BT? ZERO and 1/4 the size of the Celeste. If you live in a area with lots of birds you may want to think about a green or yellow fig as they have less bird problems. LSU Gold or a maybe a Green Ischia may be good choices.  Cuttings are great but if you want figs sooner talk to you local garden centers and see what they have on order for spring. I spent $50 for a large LSU GOLD last spring and ate a few figs that fall. If you ever get over here in the Chattanooga area let me know and I will hook you up on some starter trees.....

There is a huge number of figs that will do just fine where you live.

Are you growing in ground or in pots?

If in ground you will need to get cold hardy varieties but there are dozens easily available.

I was thinking about doing a couple in pots and a couple on the ground
