Sal

Its getting closer to Christmas and your still getting ripe figs thats great  and hope you keep getting nice weather for them.
Thanks for posting those pictures they are a joy to see at this time of year .

Lovely pics Sal I just got an LSU Gold this year sure hope it fruits in the next two years. Thanks for posting the pics

Nelson I hope your Lsu gold fruits for you. The first few were a little watery but sweet 3 others I picked not as watery and very sweet a nice size fig with no signs of splitting or souring as of yet also looks to be very productive for such a young tree can't wait to taste when ripening at proper time.
Martin I know you prefer dark colored figs and we leave tomorrow for a week. My Black unknowns have a dozen figs starting to show color I'm hoping they wait for me to get back. Lol they are still my wife and I favorite so far. Looking forward to next season as I am hoping to taste a VDB. The fruits on it have been drooping so I picked them all off except for five larger ones
Sal

Sal, your black unknown fruit looks like the fruit of ronde du bordeaux to me (aka 'round of bordeaux")

almost perfectly round, dark red flesh, etc.

Mind you, one of the figs I see in those results is very panachee looking, but ... the other pics of the actual RDB fruit are just what your fruit reminds me of.  Got pics of your black unk's leaves?
