Figs uncovered in Nova Scotia, Canada

Uncovered all my lovely fig trees....this winter was quite mild so there was little to no kill. Goutte d'Or seems to be doing super well. Børnholme is stubborn and seems slow to take.

Not to e the bearer of bad news but there is a Polar Vortex heading for mid and Eastern Canada.
Low temps could hit -10C be prepared to protect these babies for a few days.

Ah, wow!  You probably need to cover your tree again to save them!  Awwww....

Yup... the fleece is coming back out today. The "polar vortex" is only supposed to last one night here. Hopefully it won't harm fruit formation.

Sounds like you are getting off easy.

South of lake Ontario we are being plummeted with snow and  80KM winds and -10C tonight.
It has been -5-8C and super windy the last couple of nights and it don't look like the polar vortex is going to be leaving us too soon,  This weekend another wave of cold and snow is expected.  Need for the jet stream to go back north where it belongs this time of year.
Just when my figs are waking up with lots of growth and brebas.  If we get a power outage it will be "just like starting over" with my figs..lol

Very nice Tadsamson!  So if any of us move to Cape Breton Island next year we can have our figs in ground!
