I have a few plants that get reddish tips. I'd like to know what varieties get them.
This is an unknown black Italian fig.

Art...I have two Bensonhurst Purple fig trees with that exact same red tip showing everytime a bud breaks open to form new leaves. From what I have been told this tree is similar to, if not the same as Hardy Chicago...others have said that it is a totally different tree altogether...either way I am very happy with my trees...by the way I purchased my two Bensonhurst Purple fig trees from, of all places, QVC...$19.95 for both trees.

Negretta gets very nice red markings also Valle Negra at times!

This unknown has a red tip and red veins on the young leaves.

My Sal's Gene from KK.  Very healthy.

Wow Dan those leaves look nice with the contrasting colors! My Sal's Corleone has red tips of growing buds but not red veins.

Art, it looks different from the other unknowns that have Hardy Chicago type leaves. The one pictured seems to have a sharper point at the end of the leaf. Do the adult leaves keep that shape or do they round off?

Tony, They are not as pointy as the juvenile leaves, but they are more pointy then the others.

Gina, it is tough to make things right once a group has pushed you out.

I could try to help but cannot help both sides now. I blame the atmosphere that has developed instead of either side.

He has the thread(s), so do I. I will not share them because it would not improve the situation.

I am sorry for Art and others who are missing out but my conscience is guiding me on a narrow path. What is at stake is more important than red pigment.

The growth is very good .
It is from an unknown tree found by curiousity.
I asked also in my first post about it but got no answer
It could be mice if we could gather info aboit growth phenotypes...

In our yard best display of reddish/pinkish is Negretta  red buds/leaf veins/leaf stems .
 Others with reddish buds in yard not listed in this thread such as Ischia Black and Sultane.

Nice pictures Martin!  I agree, Negretta has some of the pretties veins and stems and really stand out compared to others.

Wow, that is pretty striking. If I had room for more I would consider it for sure. Actually, since it is pretty ornamental maybe I could make an argument for planting one in the front yard...
