This is the closest in taste to "Crocette di Fichi"  that I could come up with (see generic first picture). I made up a batch over the weekend from my cache of frozen Almas. They go fast...will not last to Christmas.

Wow Frank - that looks absolutely wonderful! Some day when my fig tree production gets that ample - I will try this !!
Thanks for posting the pics.

Anything with figs and walnuts has to be good. I hope you have enough to share with everyone ;)

Yum, Yum yum

Frank, what's the recipe?

Frank,

The ones you sent me didn't last long. They are very good.

Frank, the ones you sent to me never arrived. I need you to send me a replacement box.

Just kidding. Unless you really do want to send me a box of those lovely looking confections.  :) :) :)

Never mind.....I'm a good chef. I'll call my friend in Atlanta and get his grandma's recipe. He travels back home to Italy every year. I'll make a bunch for the holidays and send some to friends.

Those look delicious. A recipe would be very nice. :). Not that I have any figs but someday...

The recipe could not be simpler. Figs and walnuts. No sugar, spices, or anything else.
Cook figs down to consistency that allows a wooden spoon to stick straight up in the pot.
Spread the fig purée on cookie trays lined with plastic wrap and dry at 120 to 150 F for up to 24 hours
Cut into squares and roll pieces of walnut into them.
Eat

Gina, IM me your address.

Rafed, glad you enjoyed them.

My, my, my!!! That looks tasty. Hopefully, I'll have enough figs next spring to try this.
