FINALLY....A Fig Harvest

Upon returning from Tim's fig gathering on Sunday, I was fortunate to find some ripening figs just waiting to be picked!  All I can say is "it's about time!".

Very nice Vito, which was your favorite?

 Peter

I am so happy for you. How is the Italian 258 compared to the Schar Israel?

Vito,
Congratulations...
Thanks for posting the pictures.
Is that the normal size of Long Yellow? and How did it taste? Thanks...

Peter we really didn't have a favorite,we enjoyed them all, after waiting so long.

Tami the Italian 258 got knocked off premature but it's a great tasting fig, you will love it.

peter S the long yellow is a giant, it was sweet and jucy and it was a meal.

Looks fantastic Vito!

Vito,
Thanks..
Just Curious, How are your trees coping with the colder night time temperatures?
My trees are still growing (green) and ripening figs, just a little bit slower.

nice collection

Vito, can you tell me a little about the long yellow? It looks superb and I'm in the market for a big fig. I'm leaning toward Stella since I hear it ripens a tad earlier but this one has me questioning...

pete S I've had the same problem with cold night, we had frost warning a couple of times, I would put the Springler on at 1am and that would take care of the frost.
Vito

Tim last year the Stella was awesome, this year we have'nt been able to eat one fig . With all the rain, they have all split wide open.
The long yellow is two years old and 8ft tall and has the biggest figs so far, jucy and sweet.

Vito: Please let me know how healthy is your Long Yellow fig tree? Do the figs split? Thank you for sharing.

Best,
Tam

Coop I share everything with my dog, he loves figs and beer.

Tam the Long Yellow is one healthy fig tree, it is one beautifull figtree with very large leaves,
