Finally caved in and ordered a greenhouse(now with pics)

I have been procrastinating on buying a greenhouse to start my plants early, stop doing the fig shuffle, and for winter storage. My wife doesn't like me filling 1/2 of our 2 car garage with figs. I ordered a Riga V from bjs.com last night and will receiving it in 2 weeks.

Thats great Jason, wish I had a spot for one too. Hope you ordered as large as you could as no matter how big, it will get filled quickly.

Congratulations. It looks nice.

That is an awesome greenhouse your so lucky to have all that room.

I don't really have the room but I am squeezing it in anyways. It is 10x 17 and it still probably won't fit everything for overwintering.

The secret is in a good foundation and how it's oriented. Make sure it's level and square and you use long anchors. Put down a good weed barrier and use large gravel for flooring. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! This is going to be the biggest project I ever attempted so any help is welcome.

Looks great!

I am in the process of getting materials together for a 24 x 12 metal greenhouse.

Teksupply.com has alot of materials and equipment

Jason looks great. That's one giant fig propigator!

Hello Jason, If you need help, just give a shout. Be more than happy to help.

There is no help for figaholics, but very nice Jason.

Congrats. Wish I could join you but I just don't have room.

Congratulations!  Consider whether hot/cold water pipes should be in the foundation for temperature control.

Jason,
Good move.  Make sure you provide for cooling, sounds funny but, believe me, plant scalding is very real even in the Northern zones.

Good luck

Almost done!

Jason - that is awesome!!  Hmmmmmm - just maybe...... I just snapped out of it! ;)

Good luck with it!

Your trees look awesome too!

Jason,

Looks awesome!!! I will have to move to get any sort of proper greenhouse structure in this yard.

Looks great, Jason. Well done!

Looks fantastic. I like everything about this greenhouse! Great job Jason.

My last wish...that one of these greenhouses would be my crypt.  Then, I could watch over my fig trees, and give seraphic advice to those caretakers-of-the-fig.

I must be a seer of sorts. In my mind, I have seen every one of these pictures before posted. I know, your saying this guy is nuts. I would not argue that, because I couldn't win that one. Nice job Jason it looks great. I would order the fan now, because standing inside with all the windows and doors open it was still pretty warm. As Nike would say, Just Do It.

All the fig trees are good looking too. :)

Thanks for the kind words everybody.
Luke- Exhaust fan is on the way.

I would love one of these!! You can grow all kinds of goodies in there!

Nice that is really impressive. I'm a little jealous! I was busy today trying to organize and make room in my garage for my fig. I think I made it worse... Looks like you can keep a lot in there. Do you have to heat that this winter?
