Finally caved in and ordered a greenhouse(now with pics)

I am going to grow out some figs till December and then put them to sleep till March. I will have to heat the greenhouse at night with an electric heater.

Great thread. Great looking professional too. Some of you might be interested in this.

This guy makes a pole bender so you can build hoop houses cheap. You basically need plastic and pipe.
Hope this helps someone.

Very inspiring. Good work.

congrats on your new setup, it looks fantastic, best wishes with it.

Well Done....Clapping my hands together. Would whistle loudly, but truth be told, never could learn to do. You will just have to imagine this.

Really nice set up!

Looking over our back garden area now to see where one of these babies will nestle in!

great job, thanks for sharing your photos. Keep us posted througout winter.

Jason,
It's been said but great looking greenhouse!  I cleaned out the garden last weekend and it seems funny to look out as see the empty space. You'll be able to continue growing through the winter.  Enjoy and thank you for posting.  It has got me to begin thinking about whether we could install a greenhouse in our yard.  I have a wonderful wife but it would take some real convincing.

Thanks again.

Luke the difference with the exhaust fan is night and day. It is the best purchase I could make for the greenhouse. By the way your Kathleen Black airlayer is hanging out in there and is actively growing.

That's good to hear. Not only will it keep the temps under control, it will help with air movement. You should probably have at least one fan hanging that will move air inside. One of the major things that help a plant get stronger is something that most people don't even think about. The wind blowing. Everyone will have their own ideas of what fertilizers to use or how to start cutting, what soiless mix to buy or even semi-gritty stuff, but the wind plays a major role in strengthening a plant. When you have any plants that will end up growing outside, they need air movement. If you do a little homework, you will find that 2 would be best. One on each side blowing in opposite directions, so you will have the air circling. It will actually help to change the directions back and forth every month or so. I know I'm just a country bumpkin, living in the sticks, plus I don't know some of the big words but this is something I heard someone talking about before. Did you notice that I got your semi- gritty stuff thrown in there.lol

I know you probably already know this, just trying to help you decide in doing the right thing in finishing your greenhouse. Back to the Nike thing again.

PS: Could be you might need 4 fans, just smaller in size. Maybe go to the greenhouse site to see what they recommend.
