Finally completed my poverty hoop house and rain barrels

I made good use of the past 2 days and completed my rain barrel setup and a simple hoop house for my 1 gallon cuttings.  I'm going to start filling up the hoop house tomorrow and see how the baby plants adapt from the basement grow lights to a protected outdoor environment.  Wish me luck!   And please excuse the mess.  ;)

OMG I love it!!! Can I copy you?

Ha!  I'm sure you can greatly improve on what I have, Tami!

Looks to me like it's going to work perfectly and down here with the winds I think abutting a fence would be the only way to go. I can just see an expensive one blowing down!

BTW the Carini's you sent in the moss cups? When they got here you could only see 1 root on the outside. This morning (2 days Sir) the cups were FULL and I had to move them on up. Thank you so much for those.

Looks great but you're going to need it 5x as large next year!

Frank,

Nice looking barrels, where did you get them?

I'm so glad they got to you safely.  That was the first time I've ever sent rooted cuttings.  I'll use that same method next time!

I hope not!  My thinking is that this will help the 1st year cuttings I babied all winter.  Then, assuming I don't do anymore crazy winter rooting, next year I will just have the 2nd year plants acclimate without the hoop house.

I got them off Craigslist for $18 each.  They were pickle barrels.  Can't wait for it to rain now!

Very cool setup Frank, I am always amazed at the ingenuity of gardeners and the lengths that we go for our plants

Lookin GOOD Frank.  And thanks for the pics.  You've given me some ideas.   I am currently moving cuttings and tomato starts in and out of my garage.  Outside in the day...back inside in the evening when it cools off and the winds pick up.  It's gettin to be a real hassle.

Thanks.  I'm amazed at the lengths I go through too.  As I've said in previous threads, I'm going all out now, then enjoy the fruits of my labor with the family for years to come.

Thanks Dave.  My wife started a few veggie seeds last week and I'm going to put those trays in the hoop house too.
