Finally finished building a greenhouse on the deck. (pics)

Finally!  After countless hours, it's ready to go.  Will it work?  I don't know yet.  It's my first greenhouse and I don't know what to expect, especially with it being on a deck.  I didn't have a great spot in the yard, so this was the next best place.
I built the subfloor with 2" foam board insulation between the studs, then I sandwiched a 1/2" sheet of foam board in between the plywood and studs.
To add height, I built the 6x8 harbor freight GH on top of 2x12s.
I used vinyl sheet flooring with a drain in the middle.  I drilled a hole in one of the 2x12s to run an ext cord, then insulated the hole.  I also modified the door.  It was intended to slide, but I converted it to a knob-style, as I read the sliding door was prone to popping off the tracks.
I added one long shelf for starts (herbs, veggies, etc) and kept the rest of the space for the trees.
Total for everything you see was a little over $600.  I have a radiant heater and I know I'll need a fan and probably some other things.  I'll eventually remove the piece of 2x12 under the doorway and extend the length of the door for easier entry.  We'll see how it goes...

Nice work. Would like to see a follow up pic when it's full.

Well done, is this to extend the season for special figs?

Don,

Precisely.  I have a few varieties that need the extra 2 months, so not all of my collection will be utilizing this, not that they'd be able to fit anyway.
The smaller GH size keeps me at bay.  ;)

Very nice Frank, I'm always impressed with the ingenuity on this site!  I'm sure it will be worth all your hard work!

My fig "setup" is basically a bunch of in ground and potted figs outside LOL.

Wow, Frank....beautiful!!

Way to go Frank, welcome to the greenhouse club

It looks great, Frank. I'm sure you'll wonder how you ever got along without it!

Thanks, all.  I'm excited to get things going this spring.

Great looking greenhouse, hopefully will bring all your cultivars to be big and strong fig trees. Have fun.

Nice build Frank, I love all the amenities that you've added. The HF green house sliding doors are a bit sticky, the fact that you have a swing door is going to make it easy to get in and out.

Oh man you guys are so dangerous!  First its the figs that scream "you must have me"!  Then its the cloners, lights, shelves, etc.  Now its the greenhouses.  Looks grand Frank and now I am dreaming of greenhouses full of figs.  Have you decided who gets to live in the greenhouse???

I know, Jodi.  It never ends!  I have a feeling it will make for a good hangout spot.  haha

OK, I'm jealous! I know I shouldn't be living in Texas and my trees are in leaf, but wow!  That is totally AWESOME!!!

Look amazing Frank! Absolutely amazing! You're gonna love it! Nice job my friend!

Great job - looks fantastic!

Thank you all.

Which are those varieties you will be pampering in there? I have my Col de dame in a greenhouse myself.

Wow, well done Frank , I'm sure it will work just fine. Congrats and I wish you more and better tasting figs than ever before bud.
I can't wait to see it in action.
