Finally some heat

It hasn't been warm enough early May. It finally warmed up and the figs are enjoying the hot sun. The bananas are growing vigorously, and many of my figs already have their main crop.

Some of the trees have droopy leaves as you can see due to the hot day. I have been watering twice a day.

Im always flattered how you have so many rooted "different plants' coming out of that green house.
Those banana plants are stunning to look at.

Bass,

I showed your pics to my wife. I said honey, You think I'm psycho?
What do you think of this guy?
She said daaaanng. LOL LOL

She said what is this? He has them all lined up like in an Army?

I said look at this other pic, Bananas in ground in Pa.!

Ciao Bass,

Did you guys really have a cooler may?  We here in S Central Penna had a cool beginning but its been hot hot hot for the last couple weeks. Everything you have looks very nice. The last week has been in 90's on my porch and high 80's in between.  I go by my thermometer as we are in the city.  The weather people and the statistics for our town that is recorded is outside of the city at our airport and it is always much cooler there. Ciao

The first part of 'may we've been getting frost almost every night. I had some frost damage on some bananas and a couple figs, but you're right. The last couple weeks been nice and hot. I hope it remains like that through the summer. There are many varieties that I'm expecting to try for the first time this year.

Ciao Bass, me too with some new varieties, yes, we had cool temps, only 1 frosts first of may week, that zapped some of my trees, so sad, but they have bounced back, looks like I wont' be as far behind as I thought. Weather man was threatening frost every other night, but we didn't get them, it was always warmer 8 degrees or so than he anticipated. But we are in the city, they did have more frequent frosts on the outsides and suburbs.  Not moving now, so have to deal with it, but its okay, it is the peace of mind and our health that matters not weather. Ciao.

Great pictures. Very inspiring. I would love to see pictures of your pomegranates sometime...I used to work with an older woman here in Southern Indiana, zone 6, and she told me that she had grown bananas for years, planting them in the ground each spring, then digging them up in the fall and storing them in her basement over the winter just in a box like you would store cannas. She told me that the fruit was wonderful and the plants reproduced each year.
