Finally some success

I've tried my hand at rooting since learning about figs. Root Riot didn't work so well for me. Rooting in perlite was a bit of a bust. I've finally had some success. I root in damp sphagnum and once rooted, transfer to a 2L SIP pot. I'm getting really good results. The 2L SIP in the pictures is my Florea cutting. The roots are of the Florea. The other plant is Beyernfeige Violetta. It was rooted in sphagnum and placed in UPM with a little added perlite. I'm currently rooting cuttings with the Uline bag method and will transfer to SIPs once rooted. I was worried about too much moisture in the SIPs, but the plants seem to be flourishing. The medium in the SIPs is UPM Ultimate. They're under shop lights from Lowe's with T8 bulbs.

This is the link to the method I used for my SIP:

Nice work Jeff. That Florea looks very healthy.
Congratulations.
Sounds like you found your preferred method of rooting and potting successfully

The results are what counts if it works for you then your doing fine !

Those roots are a beautiful sight!

Congratulations!

Nice roots! Keep it up!

Jeff,
Thanks for posting and congratulations.
Those roots look great.
How are you watering the 2 liter SIP?
Thanks

Pete, I just refill it when it gets low. Every other time, I use some half strength fertilizer. I did sprinkle cinnamon on the surface of the UPM just to hedge my bets. I was really worried about it being too moist, but everything I've put in one of these SIPs after rooting has done fantastic.

looks awesome. I'd love t try this sometime.
