It's a beauty!!!
Bass...Just asking....I thought I remembered reading that this variety is really a good breba-only fig, and that main-crop takes too long to ripen properly in our areas. Is this correct?Frank
I'll have to monitor the main crop closely, this year it has a main crop set. Will see if it drops or not.
Looks great!
Nice colour.
This morning I walked by the Fiorone di Ruvo and it was oozing honey from the eye. It was an irrisistable invite to be picked and eaten. My son shouted, look it's ripe. Was fully ripe and juicy. My 4 yrs old twins kept shouting stop taking pictures I want to eat it. breakfast was served, devided for the whole family.
Thats awesome. The fig and the fact that the kids are so anxious to eat it
Looks Great Bass, my FDR breba's still need atleast another 3 weeks to ripen cant wait.
Looks delicious. I think my tree fruited 2 or 3 seasons ago but ripen late. Did not get to taste it & it did not fruit last season & this season. Could be root bound. Otherwise very healthy.
Well....? How was the flavor? Frank
On a scale from 1-10 it was an 8. Not quite as good as Ronde de Bordeaux, but it's equal to the size of 4.
Thanks, Bass for the evaluation de flavor.Frank
Couple of those figs and you could make a whole fig pie, they are large and apparently good tasting. Very interested to know if it will produce a main crop, please do give us an update Bass
