First Breba of 2011 Pics

Took this photo today, but did not pic the fig yet as I want to share it with some one hopefully tomorrow. This Is a Conadria. I will try to take a picture of cut fruit tomorrow

Here is a pic of my Panache today

Looking good Sal. Can't wait to see the cut fig and taste description.

Nice looking fig Sal. Hope you get to enjoy it soon.
At least you don't have to worry about the squirrels like most of us do.

The Panache are looking good too. It is an excellent tasting fig!
I was lucky enough to enjoy one at Jons place last Summer.

Looks good!  Can't wait to see the inside of that treasure chest.

Picked today and was able to share with a new friend.
weight 66 grams
Nice looking fruit and taste was very good. Sweet, fruity with a good seed crunch. Nice fig flavor, moist but not watery good size eye but closed. Obviously left for wanting more. Hope to have a good season and wish the same to all

I have only one word...YUM:P!  Great pictures!

Sal, that looks awesome, that is a serious fig....
Didn't realized conadria makes such a beast breba, glad I have 2 midsize brebas on my little conadria tree.

Sal you're ahead of me that's for sure. I have some breba but it will be a while before they're ready. Mine is planted in the ground. Looking forward to tasting it again. It gave me a bunch last year for such a small tree.

Congrats Sal. Good start to your season. My brother had a Conadria tree & he was amazed at how good it tasted. He told me it was difficult to describe the complex taste. The fig was fully ripen and it drop into the wrap around newspaper pouch he made to deter birds from spotting it. Also -- talking to Richard Watts, he describe  Conadria as one of his most reliable variant  that is good tasting & productive.

Congrats Sal, especially for the early season and good start with an awesome tasting fig. My brother in Malaysia had an awesome experience with Conadria in March 2011. He said it was excellent tasting & he could not figure out its complex taste except that it is very, very nice & sweet. The Conadria was fully ripen and it drop into his wrap around paper pouch. The paper pouch was to deter birds from spotting it. Also, Richard Watts said Conadria is one of his most reliable variant every year in terms of productivity and taste.

Thank you for sharing this info Sal.  I am glad I have a Conadria in my collection, it has rooted well and next year I will look forward (hopefully) to tasting this fig.  Please, keep the photos coming as they help me immensely.

Very nice Sal. Very nice!

Way to go Sal!  Man I had one that I rooted from cutting last year.  I had it in a 2 gallon pot and that tree grew so fast and started to spread, so I planted it in the ground.  It is growing nicely now and I look forward to tasting those figs!  cheers,

Sal are those panache breba still hanging on ?

Hi Martin they are still hanging on but they are main crop not breba I hope they hold as I will report as they progress.

On a another note the ronde you gave me has been ripening some figs and boy are they a promising variety. The taste has been good and hopefully will get better with a few more years. I plan on putting in ground when dormant for next season.
The vdb also has some small figs on it not sure if they will hold to maturity but will also report on that.
I have been picking the following figs all main crop
Ronde, Conadria, LSU Gold, MBVS, Improved Celeste, and my Black Unknown
Still waiting on Sal Corleone, VDB and Panache

Ah ok i thought that 1 bottom panache was on seasoned wood.
My gosh what a climate you have eaten ripe figs for a while now.
Hey im a chicago guy and its still hard to phantom no matter how many times i read about them ripe figs.
Glad you like the Ronde - thanks goes to Bass for getting it here least to me anyways along with a few other types i have from him.
Im curious how the VdB i sent will do compared to the other one you posted last season.
Minga all my figs have a ways to go still and your enjoying them long before.
