First Fig for the year.

Had my first one for the year. I have this small Strawberry Verte that ejp3 traded me as a cutting last year. Barely a foot tall but it bore a fruit late last fall after I brought it inside. I forgot to remove it and later decided to leave it alone. It stays next to a south facing window. A couple of weeks ago it swelled up and started drooping.

As for the taste it was relatively watery, but I sensed its potential. My only taste reference is Celeste. The seeds have a crunch to them unlike Celeste. What was interesting to me was the thick skin. It had a very nice flavor which was different from the flavor of the pulp.

Hope this one survives given that it had spend a lot of energy ripening a fruit while being attacked by spider mites.

Wow, nice pics. I hope my Strawberry Verte puts out nice looking figs like that this year! Thanks for sharing!

Nice fig and a beautiful interior. I haven't tried that one yet. I think I have a local source located for it. Thanks for the pictures.

That is a nice looking fig. I hope mine do that well also.

Looks great!
