OK, maybe the last fig of last season, picked 04-11-2009. This is Shtawi, which sets fruit in about September, and ripens December and later.
Jon, Did it have any taste? This is definitely one of the oddest figs in my collection. In Lebanon it ripens in the fall. Maybe not enough heat units in San Diego?
I am also very curious of the taste! If it was good, what a fig lovers dream come true! hummmm.....
It was quite sweet, a little skimpy on flavor, but quite edible. Hey, it is April.
Yeah, that is amazing for April! Did it have figs on it while it was dormant? Also wondering how much warm weather it was exposed to before it ripened? Sorry for the 20 questions lol.
What is dormancy?
It that supposed to be one of those ... Jon pokin' fun at us in less favorable climates for figs ;)
