After a year of reading and envying everyone's beautiful pictures, I can finally post a pic of my very first fig that I grew from birth (- last year I had a couple that already had figlets when I bought them so those didnt count)!! I probably could have waited another day or 2 for them to ripen but I was too excited. It was still tasty and my 2 yr old and I shared and savored it.

It looks beautiful and tasty, Tina. What variety?
Gonna guess that its a Violette de Bordeaux.
Thanks Gary, Armando is correct- it was a Violette De Bordeaux. It was much tastier than any of the brown turkeys I have had from the grocery stores.
Congratulations Tina. That's a nice fig. My first VDB gave me a flashback of my childhood. Your little one will now be asking for figs all the time, and circling the plant, looking for another tasty morsel :)
Tina ,.Congratulations!Good job.I know what you feel now with your first fig!Others will follow...In your place you will soon be growing the best world figs !Francisco
Congrats Tina. It looks delicious!
Congratulations! If that's a breba they only get better from there. :)
Congrats!!
Nice fig Dont lose hope on a well ripened brown turkey. Commercial ripeness is far from the real thing..
