FIRST LSU FIGLETS

Tonight I just noticed thses two very young figlets on my very young LSU gold fig tree growing on my window sill. This was given to me by a very generous person that at times uses this forum. I want to thank him for the two trees he gave me

Wow, very nice. And, yes, the generosity of people here is amazing and, to me, very touching.

Lovely figlets and tree, Lou....It's amazing how early some of these produce. Think of us when those figs ripen and you get to eat them :)

I have LSU gold and purple cuttings in my cloner.  The cuttings have, on a combined basis, tried to push out more figs so far than leaves.  I'm actually OK with that since they are pushing out a lot of roots and I'm looking for more root growth than top growth right now (in dreary December-January NJ weather).

If only my other cuttings showed the spunk that the LSU's are showing, I'd be the king of all cloners (wonder what my crown would look like).

Andrew

thanks for responding. I used to have this fig way back for many years but then two years ago it just died. I used to root prune every three years and kept it growing in a 18 gallon plastic tub. I like that it has a somewhat juicy interior. I always had large briba crop. It looks like it is going to be another good tree.
