It's a small tree but was pretty good, just sweet enough, with a little fruity aftertaste, can't quite put my finger on it. I was wondering if I had the right Scott's black but when I seen the red inside I knew it was the real deal. Scott's black on the left and two LSU purples on the right Scott's black by itself with a few LSU purples on the edge of the plate
Cool figs Ryan. Which type did you prefer?Mike
Thank you Ryan, What are figs you are happy with in flavor...??? I am throwing out the book of exotic fig names and focusing on flavor.
The LSU purples are really good and my tree is only about 3 yrs old so it should still get better in another year or two. Today the Scott's black had a little something that the LSU purples didn't, but none the less they were all good. It's hard to say whic ones were better.
Nice. I really enjoy the LSUpurple but I'd say they lack a sort of complex nutty/figgy flavor (mine seems seedless and that might be what the flavor is missing?)
