Finally gotten around to posting some pictures of my recent purchases.I have taken cuttings from them and planted them in hopes to root them as well as finding a Jordan fig and a Negronne fig tree.So far I have these cuttings planted5 Brown Turkey5 Desert King3 Ice Crystal3 Jordan2 NegronneI also have a friend and cousin who have fig trees so I will be grabbing cuttings from those at some point, and my friend does not like figs so he said I can have them all. The tree is like 30 feet tall and has a bunch of figs! These are the cuttings And here is the one lone fig on the Ice Crystal I have And the Ice Crystal itself And this is the Desert King, Still needs to be planted And finally the Brown Turkey it was a perfect day for pictures today, all of the forest fires around bc gave a nice orange glow to the sky, although forest fires are never good!
Very nice! Keep us updated
Nice selection..
Hi,Nice trees.Do you have the fig wasp around ?
I don't think I do, have never seen them and I don't think they live in Canada at all!The desert king is a good producer of Brebas and thats why I have it. I'm not expecting any main crop because as I read it needs the wasp
Hi,Icecrystal does need it as well :( sorry . I'm in the same boat, I have IceCrystal and last year she dropped most of the crop. I'm waiting on the results of this year to seal the destiny of mine.
hmm, well at least I will still get brebas. I may look into buying a caprifig and self pollinate them, who knows! But I looked around and apparently the Ice crystal is a common fig so I guess we will see
