I picked my first ripe fig of season el.sals. The sweetness did not show as much as it usually does , more getting ripe on this tree and weather is turning warmer so i have some hope as next 7 days will be around 80.

Lookin good My Sal's is putting new healthy looking leaves on! Maybe next year I will get figs from it!
I picked my first sal's yesterday as well. it was an in ground fig.
Bass, Like I told Martin, that is a beautiful Fig! You will have to really watch Joy around them figs :-) Does her brother like figs?
dieselerGood luck with the rest of the trees for early ripening. How old is this SAL tree.
Both kids love picking the figs,They love figs just like dad. The sal's I have picked needed one more day of sunshine to be at its best.
Bass that's great Two mighty pretty little Guys
Ottawan i bought it from edible landscaping as small plant in 2003 so this would be 7th growing season .Here it is naked and late last season
Thanks, DieselerProbably the age may have a little something to do with early ripening. My SAL was rooted in winter-2008. Fig embryos appeared in mid-June this year but they are still hard and smaller than your tree shows in the picture.
Congrats Martin. With the flush of many fig pic's recently, I am sure you are fully satisfied with your 1st figs of the season. Hope many, many more to come before its over.
