First ripe LSU Purple of the season + Inside Pics

Mini-drought followed by a few days of rain. The sun came out just enough today to bring this one to full color. I meant to show a pic of it open, but it jumped in my mouth. This year, the taste is more complex than I remember, and perfect balance of sweetness.

Looks good, my Lsu purple is just about done.

Looking forward to some of those!  Thanks for posting.

I kept thinking they were running late, but last week of July is about right on schedule for us.

I ate a bunch of LSU Purps this year from my Dads second year tree and if left to ripen to the point if drooping they ate very good!!! Enjoy;)

Mine remains green but it looks like 2 more weeks or less here in 8A Georgia.

you guys are making me crazy.
It will be at least 2 months before my LSU purple is ripe,

gorgeous fig.  Got a pic of the inside?  My LSU Purple definitely is not an LSU Purple.  The growing figs look nothing like those on yours.

I am jealous.  Here by Lake Ontario we have had a cold winter followed by cold spring and so far a very cool summer.  Wonder if we will get any ripe figs up here without a greenhouse for 2014.
