First Ronde de Bordeaux

These were harvested today, normally I would not post this but I do want to say thank you to the kind and generous friend that gifted this tree: member Vito. Thank you Vito! They were tasty.

They look very nice thank for posting.

My RDB grew like molasses and is still not producing after 2 years.  Finally in the last few weeks it started surging in new growth so maybe next year I will get to taste these figs that everyone raves about.

Looks very nice

rafael, Congrats....I love RDB, they have a great taste and grow like weeds! : )

Frank, thanks! I now have three, my in ground will probably never fruit, it keeps getting killed to the ground. Am sure it will get better w age!

I planted one in ground this spring too. Mine grows very bushy so it will be easy to prune back to 12-16" branch lengths and pin down and cover with mulch. Thats the plan anyways lol.

I agree with you about the age of the tree. I am hoping the same thing. Mine right now is covered with Figs but I really don't think they had time to get ripe...

Nice ones.

Congrats!  I have one in the ground and one in a SIP.  They do really well in my yard.
