first time success with cuttings

Starting in December I began rooting cuttings for the first time and taking the advice found on the forum I must admit I feel lucky to have reached about 78% rooting success so far. The fact that I have a small greenhouse I'm sure had something to do with my success.
Here are some pics of my setup.
I have 2 rooting chambers. As the cuttings develop roots and leaves in the lower chamber they are moved to a taller chamber with lights or to the bench also with 8 hrs. of tube lights. Ambient natural light is available throughout the day. Some of the cuttings have grown so well they are now in gal pots.
The 2 Black Madeiras and 4 Figo Preto Franciscos are doing well. (What a releif!!) along with NdC and a few other sought after cultivars.
Thanks guys.

Rich, those look really good.

Love the pics! Such a fun process isn't it?

nice job!!!!!

Good luck with them.  ; )

Great job!  78% is very impressive for a first timer  :)

You're doing a lot better than I did the first time. I had 0 success the first time years back.
Good luck!

Well done Rich, all the best.

Holy smokes! Tempted to say "beginner's luck," but maybe better put "Midas touch." Good for you!

Hey Rich

Nice work on your cuttings! One thing we do know, we all get a lot of good advice from eveyone here contributing to the greater body of knowledge regarding the propagation of fig trees. I have a few cuttings going as well, started about when you did, I just put these into 1 gallon pots over the weekend and all are looking good. Here they are soaking in the afternoon sun today on this very cold, but sunny bright day.

Good luck!

Rich...your trees look great...congratulations on a job well done.

Mark, just trying to compare mine with where yours and Rich's are. Did you use any fertilizer?

Looking good Rich

Thanks Vince. You're the guy who started me off with my 1st cuttings way back in late Nov.
What have you gotten me into???

Hey Mike

No, have yet to put any fertilizer on these cuttings since they were still in plastic cups on Saturday morning until being up-potted later in the day. One thing though, most of the plants that are visible in this pix ( Post 10) are from end-tip cuttings from my Hardy Chicago. They took forever to root, had a spell of mold early on, but pulled through. Based on what I've read on the forum, I'm going to let them settle into these new pots for a week or even two, then start some fertilizer regime.

Rich, hope we are not stealing your thread. This is about half of my cuttings.

Rich...it's a wonderful ride...enjoy every minute...and it gets better...just wait until you taste those delicious figs that you have grown...

Very nice Rich.  But don't let your guard down yet.  The next step will be just as challenging.  I did well starting my cuttings but am probably going to lose one to cooking it in the sun and another to way too much rain here last week.  And there are three more that are starting to look sickly.  Too much rain, fungus gnats, leaf rust, leaf miners?

Great starting. Good luck!
