I know this might be hard to believe but I left my 8inch Florea plant uncovered and in the fall pinched the tip so it could grow as a bush.My Florea is still alive no die back whatsoever.It's flexible and scratched the twig and is still green.It may not be the best tasting fig out there to members but if It's hardy enough and will not die back here in Michigan wow I'll be the happiest man even if they don't taste the best Thank you to the member who shared it with me.

What have your lowest temps been this Winter ?
Thinking of planting one Florea in ground here in NH.

Hi Kerry we had a few days with the wind chill below zero.-15 is pretty low I guess it just matters where you plant it.My Florea is planted on the north side of my house in my backyard about 10 ft away from the house.So we'll see what happens.Maybe the snow insulated my plant and kept it alive because my Florea is only about 8inches tall.Goodluck.

The Florea I am thinking of planting is one I grew in an 8" deep bulb crate (15"x23") this past season. I trained it to 2 arms parallel to the ground to make it easy to cover in the Winter if I do decide to risk planting it. I have other Florea , so I should give it a try.
I should put it in a spot that is sure to collect snow or easy to pile it there.
Thanks for reminding me about the hardiness of Florea.
Herman told me to plant one out the first year because it is so cold hardy.

Thanks for this information. My Florea is only about 8-9 inches tall, but stocky. I will plan on trying it in the ground after another couple years. I've already made a note on it's tag. I'm really glad to know about this.
