Florea and JH Adriatic

I recently purchased two small fig plants. The first is a Florea which is small maybe 6 inches. How much should this plant get leaves keep falling off- its down to the last leaf. Any idea how to keep this from dying?
Second is a JH Adriatic it seem this plant is destined to wilt. I had it in full day sun 14 hours Long Island zone 7a. Now I have it in 9 hours of sun and it is still wilting. I give it as much water as the black jack and Negrone and they are much bigger and doing just fine. Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!!!

Hi Happychicken, if these are young plants, my first guess would be they are being overwatered. Maybe the plants have not been kept in full sun and that was too much for them, plus more water than the plants can use, could cause the roots to rot. Might be better in diffused light, and pulled out of the pot to get air to the roots. Those little plants are much more fragile than more well established plants with strong roots. I hope they pull through for you.

Assuming these are new purchases...get that JH Adriatic out of the full sun ASAP.  Put it in part shade and let it adjust to the new environment, and don't water it so much..  The Florea may very well drop all its leaves, but it should start putting out new ones.  This sounds like they both might be in various stages of shock from transport.
If these aren't new purchases then my advice may not apply.

Are they in the original containers or did you transplant already? What kinda of soil, medium are they in?

The Adriatic is in the ground. I took out some of my soil which in Long Island is a lot of sand and put in miracle grow topsoil then put mulch on top. The florea was transplanted to a larger pot. It has 4 inches of mulch on the bottom to help drainage and miracle grow potting soil mixed with perlite with mulch on top
