FMV free fig colection - anyone tried ?

Hi Dan, yes I did see the UC Davis fmv report this is why I was confused because the leaves certainly look like they have fmv in fact all 3 of the kadota seeldings have these markings on the leaves. My other seedlings however do not show any signs of fmv or have not yet.

Next season I will play with put them in some composted lamb manure and see what happen's. I guess like you said there could be a possibility that it could be nutrient imbalance if im not mistaken these 3 seedlings are in Miracle grow potting soil. Everything else I have is in Pro-mix BX mixed with Composted Lamb Manure.

Please keep us posted........

Hi Nelson,
where yours germinated from seed.
Thanks

Hey Martin yes, last year I bought a box of fresh kadota figs from california. Noticed a few were dark green with red pulp wich I had read caprified kadotas are dark green with red pulp I took the seeds out of two figs and in 5 weeks I had over a 100 seedlings only kept 3 though. Amazing how many seeds there are in one fig.

Oh and by the way caprified kadota's taste way better. IMO

Thanks Nelson i'm wondering if you sent those pictures to UcDavis what there thoughts might be if you were to get a response.
To bad theres no inexpensive test for us that would be pure fun for me.
Thanks Nelson .   ; )

I use coco coir with composted sheep manure for most of my Tropicals now and everything seems to love it, I still have similar blotches on some trees though.
