I know there are a lot of posts regarding FMV.  I'm pretty new to multiple varieties of figs.  For years I only had one type that was given to me by family - so they had no traces of FMV.  I realize that, for the most part, FMV is going to be part of growing my collection.  But I was wondering if certain varieties are more resistant to FMV?  I have a a young JH Ardiatic and Nero that are sitting right next to other plants that show some signs of FMV on their leaves.  But those 2 look perfect and totally healthy?  Just wondering.  Thanks..Tony

In theory, FMV shouldn't be transferred in our area except by tools (cutting an infected plant then cutting a non-infected plant).

If that's the case maybe what I'm seeing aren't signs of FMV?  Most of my plants are relatively new.  I have pinched the tops on different occasions - but that has not been often.  And since they are newer plants I haven't pruned them yet.  So maybe it's a fertilizer issue or something else?

Fertilizer issue for me.
My "Sultane", all of a sudden exposed mottled leaves and fruits in July. I gave her a shot of fertilizer and she looks better now. So this evening she took another shot.
I had forgotten that "Sultane" is a rabbit grower and needs to be fed accordingly ...
My "Sultane" is now showing two new shoots near the dirt level, and that is the explanation of what I saw but couldn't understand then .
