Martin,

Sue is a little busy - something to do with the acquisition of real estate. I have some of the photos at Figs4Fun on the "UC Davis" link.
Some are hers, and some mine.

The rest are at her page.

Thanks so much Jon.
I hope some folks that have not seen them will enjoy them as much as i did . ; )

Thanks I have seen them but also like looking again. I forgot about Sue's site and that is interesting too That puzzle thing is not for me no Patience here.

Hi Martin,
Coming up for air...yep I bought a home on 2 acres! Signed the loan docs Friday. Hope to have the title transfer by Wed or Thurs so I can move in Easter weekend.

Glad Jon provided the link to Wolfskill for all to see. It was a fun and informative trip. Love to do it again one day.

Sue

Hi Sue,
not trying to get personal here but please say you did not move to a cold climate state such as illinois which is a pain to grow some things.
2 acres is very nice , wish you the best in your new home.

I do see Sue with some more space for more figs...
Edit:
That was our (me&wife's) plan ~2-3 years ago, beyond our 2nd/last kid
flies the cuckoo-nest off-to-college. Sadly the plan did not materialize.

Martin,

She is staying in a quite warm place.

I'm even staying in the same town. ;-)

Just got back from getting a second estimate for solar. Wow that's expensive...

Sue

Hi Sue and congratulations on your new fig farm orchid. What are you trying to heat with solar or is it to produce electric. I have solar panels to heat pool but I've been reading more and more about solar electric producing panels. If you produce more electric than you use it gets sold back to electric company and you get a credit on your bill. I read there is money from the government to help defray the costs and maybe some state money also not sure but might be something to look in to

Hi Sal,

You are right about the gov rebates. Feds allow 30% rebate on most of the costs as a tax write-off. The state (CA) rebates as well only with them you get a check. I'm getting estimates for a 3.2KW system. Looks like it will be between $19K and $24K. I'm getting solar to run the house but connecting it to the grid in order to get the rebates.

We'll see if I can go there right away. I have an issue with the well that may take presidence over the solar. I have to move in and see how the well produces. I may need to go deeper so I can water my figgys. According to the powers in the know, there's enough water for the house but not for landscaping. That will get fixed! ;-)

Sue

Sue, congrats on the purchase. Two acres in paradise, who could ask for more. I'm looking forward to seeing it a the end of June when we go on vacation.

Just a little side note to let you know that your cuttings as doing well. I'll give you a full report a little later. With spring going gangbusters here their is so much to do. "gene"

Congratulations on your purchase Sue!  Best of luck.

Rafed,

Maybe you can work a deal with Sue to split those two acres. You'll be in paradise, and there will be a nice fig orchard next door that you can raid. ;-))

My home deeded today! It's all mine!!! Yippee! I'm stopping in tonight to light a fire in the fireplace and watch the rain come down.

Sue

My congrats. Enjoy...

Congrats Sue and may you turn it into all you can dream, your own little piece of paradise. "gene"

Hi Sue,
one day down the road would like to see pictures of your fig trees growing there, a small version of UcDavis perhaps?
Best wishes with your new home .

Hi Sue, congrats on your new place and added space. I know you can't wait to dig in!.

Sue,

Glad it all went well for you and the new place. It's good to hear good news.
I hope you enjoy your new home for many many years to come.
