For Those Wanting to Post Under the Influence With Something Different This Friday

I tried this last year,
it was ok, 
tasted like vodka with a splash of fig.
Fig moonshine basically.

I heard this story on NPR this evening while driving back in to work.  Mahia.  Sounds like an interesting liquor.  The radio story said a clear fig brandy (an eau de vie).  Looks like the printed article in that link says the same.  Seems like it might be interesting to try.

Heck, I want to make it. Sounds good. Still working on keeping the alcohol content down though. My initial efforts with honey, grapes and other fruits could singe your hair off. I suppose that is not all bad. I have hair to spare.

... or earlier!

Cool story - my parents were big gardeners when I was kid, so that rubbed off on me. If my bees produce enough honey this year, I'd like to try to make mead.
