Thanks, Jon, and all who contributed.
I have a question. There is a comment about adding to an existing thread if the topic has been addressed before. Some forums really discourage bringing resurrecting old threads. As an example, I was a monthly financial contributor to one forum related to my faith and I posted in a short thread that was about three years old as I was asking for an update to the very identical schooling question that the original poster had brought up. Another member (someone who posted countless useless posts everyday and made no monetary support to the forum) posted a rant about me "necro-bumping" and a moderator locked the thread. I discontinued my financial support at that time. Another forum I participate in has a warning in the reply box for threads where the last post is over 90 days old but there don't seem to be complaints about folks replying to them because it usually seems appropriate. I belong to probably 15-20 other forums and I don't see folks complaining about it when someone brings up an old thread, including here. It seems too often that a new thread is created on the same subject that has been discussed here before. What are the expectations here about posting to a dated thread?
