Forum Is Slow

Over past few days this forum has been slow to load, sign on, look at messages, post new messages and now it will not accept pictures thoruigh the mangement feature and mine are under 1mb . I used the image code instead which make leagre picture on forum.

I tried on the wifes gaming computer a very fast computer and everything is same - slow .
Is something wrong and anyone else having similar problems lately.

Ditto, it took me 3 tries and 4 minutes to log on.

Time of the year when everything about figs are slowing down to a semi-dormant state.
Then good times are ahead. Cheers.

Got error 500. Typically indicating server error. Then again, it's rather generic error.

6:05 pm Pacific Time everything looks normal.
Best regards.

Testing the manage attachments feature, trying to affix picture under 1 mb.

5.2 seconds to load manage attachment
loaded picture 80.1 kb under 1 megabyte
click download
Error: Storage limit exceeded.

Y'all need to try dumping your caches.  I did and it helped.

noss

On the other hand---Maybe that won't help at all, but it's good to dump your caches frequently, maybe just not in this case.

When I first came into the forum, it was fine, but now, it's very sluggish.

Cache dumped
Retested the manage attachments feature, trying to affix picture under 1 mb.

7.0  seconds to load manage attachment as opposed to 5.2 seconds to load manage attachment previously.
loaded picture 80.1 kb under 1 megabyte
click download
Error: Storage limit exceeded

tried loading other files all under 1 meg and have used these pictures files in past with no problem same ERROR. Tried our fast I7 chip computer and no difference.
Noticed forum as a whole is slow sometimes and better other times for the most part when navigating back and forth through messages, etc etc.

Just different now than the past .

Thats life im not complaining just pointing things out, there is much more daily problems than a forum loading slow thats for sure when it happens i simply click it off and move on to some other things of interest.

I got that "storage limit exceeded" error repeatedly the other day as well, when trying to include images with one of my posts. I eventually had to have my son show me how to upload to an online file-sharing site, and then paste the images' URLs on that site into the box under F4F's "insert image" button, as a temporary work-around solution. It's a bit more complicated, but it works okay and you can put the images wherever you want them within your post. I emailed Jon to see if he knew what the problem might be, and he thought the overall forum's storage capacity was probably maxed out, and that he would have to check on it. So, I'm guessing it'll be taken care of before long.

Hi Tucson,
yes most times i use the mange attachments feature for the thumbnails as it saves needed space instead of posting the img code , once in a while when im in hurry i use the img code but not too often.
On other forum i just use the Html code which takes up much more space depending on how closeup i get with camera.
