Forum Rules/Help/Comments

Posting pictures is GREAT! One does Not need a server, like Photobucket,
and can upload them directly from his/her PC . What is the suggested picture size?

I seem to have a little problem with a 'blank' post preceding any uploading!!??

What are the BASIC rules for this forum?

Also recommend some kind of a  'Search'  utility...

George,
There is a search function on the upper right side by the control panel and log out features.

Re: Search;
Ooops! and thanks...

Gorgi.

Could you explain the problem with the "blank" post in a little more detail? Maybe, just e-mail me.

The pix I post of USDA figs are 640 x 480, as an example.

I don't know how much "tweaking" I can do but if I get clear issues, I'll work on it. This is an "off the shelf" product. I'm still learning about all these things, too.

pitangadiego,

The two 'blank' posts appeared right above post #17, 18 when I uploaded my
first pictures in the thread (both were deleted)
Hollier Sweetness - Worst to First

Today, I uploaded another picture (See Black Madeira Pix thread),
and things were OK. I must have done something wrong before (e.g.,
hit the wrong button ).

BTW, the author of the post can edit or delete it. I have mixed feeling about this.
This feature can be used both for good or bad intentions.

gorgi,

There is a preview function between the "Post" and "Spell Check" buttons, which might help check that pictures are actually working and look the way you want. I use is for any posts with pictures.

I like the editing function - helped me clean up some grammar and spelling errors I missed. So I am going to leave it for now. If it gets abused, then we'll have to do something different. The goal is to give some freedom to people, and deal with things if people "misbehave".

Gorgi said " (one) can upload them directly from his/her PC ".
How does it work (step by step, please).

(Edited):
While posting a new message; look at the lower left for a
Manage Attachments
option,  click it; another window should pop up; BROWSE  till you find the pic
on YOUR own PC; click on it, and hit the upload button. There IS a limit
on 'any' uploaded file size (1025 KB.). As for  pictures from my camera, I learned  to
'reduce' the pic size by saving them  (using photosuite) as a  "web" version.
Any half-decent digital camera will most probably produce a bigger sized pic.
I for one 'not-a-very-big-man', has also been down-sized; job-wise that is,
while the CEO of my Co ran-off with millions ($s) in his bulging pockets...
PRE-veiw the post, and if you do not see all your intentions, try again
(or give-up) before hitting the 'submit/post-message' button...

Thanks gorgi. It is more than enough details. I copied it and put it in my Fig&Forum notes.
