Freaky Roots On My Cuttings! Help!

The 2 in the top pic are fine. Larry looks very much upside-down but doesn't seem to have very clearly divided leaf and bud scars to be sure. I'd plant Larry either horizontally or diagonally fully under the soil. Even upside-down the shoots will find their way up through the soil. The air roots are nothing to worry about. some of mine have them and it may be just where the rooting hormone went as I handled the cutting. I always get some on my fingers.

thats what i would do.
almost...

i would plant it on an angle, maybe more than 45 degrees,
with just the tip above the soil.
or , even horizontal just under the soil line, half inch or so.
