"Freckled beauty". The usual summer fig search took me to this most beautifull and very, very tasty fig tree.

I have never seen any other fig looking like this one. It is very unique. Color variations from yelow, red, purple. Very pretty.
It is found in town of Stara Zagora. Bulgaria.

Pen, I just checked the temperature stats for Stara Zagora on Wikipedia and the record low was -11 F so this fig appears to be fairly hardy if it was grown without protection. How would you describe the taste (more honey or berry flavor?)

Last winter temp droped to -14F (-25C) Just outside the city. This tree is 5m tall and has never been protected from the cold. It definitely has an excelent berry flavor. The skin is thin and also very tasty.  Even though with thin skin it is tough and strong.

This colors in one tree, I've never seen so strange fig like this one.
I have a question, Is it in a hill or a plain, because it's count for a lot.
I can't belive it. It can survive -25c? If it survive i want to :) this variety.

No, the tree lives in town and grows on the east side of a building. The temp. in town were little higher, may be -20C, but only for few days and only during the night.

Love the fingers. Those are good garden-loving, soil-grubbing, fig-eating fingers.

Yes the fingers were "painted" with composted sawdust which is hard to come off. here few more pictures I took today.
 
Few branches were laying on the ground and had some roots. I got them and they are already in pots. :)
