Free Conadria Cuttings

Ok the twenty packages went out this morning.  If you sent me your address by 8am this morning, you've got cuttings on their way!  I used the flat rate packages, so everyone had the same cost, $5.60 each.  You can either paypal me at nicholas.allers@thesiorg.com or send a check/cash to the return address on the envelope when it comes.  I'd love to see this thread continue on with some pictures of the cuttings as they are rooted, sprouted, and harvested :)

@Nick

Keep up the good work.

This is exactly how it was in them good olde-fig-times
(mostly sharing/trading figs - and very little $$'s involved).

Back then, there were very few of us crazy-fig-nuts.
Now the whole thing, is kind of has grown/exploded upon itself!

IMO; this FF is getting to be too much self commercialized too...

Nick -- you've got one more PM waiting for you if you have any left...
Cheers,
Jim
PS -- sorry I called you "Johnny" -- you can call me "needa" if you want ;-)

Sorry Im all out!

Armando, that looks like mine when not fully ripe. You need to leave them on until they are very wrinkled and blotchy.

Thanks Nick.....I don't have patience...if it looks close I pick...LOL     Figs I guess are like a Fine Wine.....LOL

Then this might not be the fig for you lol. Even a day before ripe and it loses its flavor. And by ripe i mean REALLY ripe :)

my Conadria like Armando, its differrent or no? with yours jhonny

It looks to be the same fig to me. I only have a pic of an unripe breba.

Here is the inside of a ripe breba..

If you check Jons ID for conadria it looks like there are two strains. This was the Edible Landscaping strain.

WOW, Nick, I love that purple color! Beautiful Fig!!

Hey Nick,

Received my cuttings today!! Thank You so much! Very nice of you!!

Good luck Frank!  Make sure to check in every once in a while to let us know how they do!

Nick

Nick,
Just received my cuttings.  Thanks for your generosity.  I will definitely post their progress.  I plan on keeping them in the refrigerator for a while before trying to root them.  Any thoughts on whether it would be better to try and root them right away?

Thanks again,
Bill

Thanks Nick
I got it

Bill I think it depends more on if you're ready to baby them all winter long.  If you have a grow light setup and don't mind fighting fungus gnats through the winter, go ahead and root them now.  Otherwise, it will be a lot easier to root them in the spring where you can move them outside shortly after repotting.

Just got a package in today with a load of cuttings!  Thank you Nick.  I'm going to be sending you a thank you package, so watch for that in the mail next week.

Got mine too. Thanks Nick!

The package you sent arrived today. I very much appreciate your generosity, Nick. I'll keep you updated on how they do for me.

(I'm sorry that in my PM, I addressed you as Johnny.)

Go Mine, too. Thanks again, Nick!

Mine arrived today too. Very generous of you. Thanks!

It's like Christmas in October, yay :)

I hope all your children grow up big and strong!

Got mine too, thanks Nick.

Nick that looks like a delicious fig. I got mine from a generous member of this forum when I first joined this forum last year. I baby it so much.. it turned out into a cute tree and repotted 2x.  I am hoping to taste a sample next summer.  I know what you talk about almost falling from the tree, mine are like that also. What a treat to have.  Your generosity will pay you many times fold.

Nick, I have to say I was a little unimpressed when I first got your cuttings. They were thin and had few and nodes, spaced far apart. I was still grateful and knew that I was one of the last on your list before you ran out, so I assumed that was all you had left.

I started your cuttings a few weeks after a couple other varieties. They have already leafed out, filled the cups with roots, and outgrown the others. This seems to be a nice vigorous variety. Thank you again!
