Free Conadria Cuttings

Hey Paul, glad to hear they are doing well! Most of the branches on the tree are very thin, it is just how it grew for me. Some of the earlier folks got two year wood which was a bit thicker, but not much. With any luck it will cintinue to grow fast and fruit this summer for you!

Paul that is good to hear.  I was fortunate enough to get some of Nick's cuttings but mine are still in the fridge.  I plan on waiting another month to give mine a shot.

That is a delicious looking fig great photo!
I have sent you a pm.
thanks

Anyone have any progress reports/photos? Some of these should be five feet tall by now :)

Nick

I have one of your conadria cuttings growing on my desk at work. It's probably about 10 or 12 inches of growth so far. I have to lower it from the light every week. It's in a 32oz deli cup sip. Very soon I'll have to up pot it. I'll try to remember to snap a photo next Monday. Thanks!

i think i got my Conadria from nick.. that braba is wonderful looking. i need have that wine soaked flesh breba. maybe i'll just soak it little longer in melbec to see how it tastes.

Hey Nick....I am just now going to start rooting, the ones you sent me. Will for sure post some photos when they root. Thanks Again!! : )

I've been rooting all of my cuttings one at a time so that I can kill them slowly rather than the whole batch at once. So far, these Conadria have the best survival rate for me.

ok folks, how did these make out this season? Does anyone have any pics of their trees all grown up and fruiting? (Yes I'm bored at work haha)

Two Conadrias survived my neglect (though not sure if I had a third that I gave away). The one on the far left wants to go bushy, so I made an air layer which is the one in the middle. All of those large, bright green leaves on top of the air layer just popped out within the last two weeks Funny how some of my figs are leafing out right now, while others are dropping leaves.

I thought the Condadrias would be one of my most aggressive growers. They went through a growth spurt for a while, but then some of my others caught up or passed. I'd say by the end of the year they had about average vigor, which is fine with me. I like the trees to get up to size quickly, but in the long run I don't want a lot of vigor since I plan to have lots of small trees.

I don't allow my first year trees to keep any figs, but the Conadrias desperately want to make figs. When I went out to take some photos this morning, I found that both of the two bigger Conadrias have put on another short round of figlets. Out of the dozen or so varieties that I started this year, the only one that has been putting on more figs than the Conadrias are the LSU Purple. I accidentally let two of my Conadria figs grow. One I tried to eat but it tasted slightly disgusting. It had rained a few days before I ate it, so either the rain spoiled it, or I just let it get too ripe. There is one more large fig on the tree that might get ripe. Can't wait until I can let the figs grow on this next year. It's going to be LOADED.

Excellent! I know last year I had figs at nearly every node on my bush. This year the frost hit it hard in the spring and I still got quite a few figs. I occasionally do have one spoil like you mentioned as I like to leave them on as long as possible.
