Free Warning Mid-Atlantic this Weekend

Anyone doing anything to protect their inground figs overnight?  I'd hate to lose the figs ripening due to overnight freeze!

I have a sprinkler set up ready to go. If temps dip below freezing, I'll run them to prevent frost damage.

The worse here is on Sunday night at -6C; hard to protect against. I hope the ground heat will minimize the damage to the plants.

How low are the temps goign to get?

Here, we are supposed to hit 31 deg. F on Sunday night.  I don't think I will do anything to protect my figs with the possible exception of really young ones in 1 gallon pots which I might move to the garage overnight.  At some point they need to get the message that it is time to go to sleep.

I woke up to 61° this morning. Yesterday was 91°, the day before 94/59 and the day before that 96/60. 4 of my brown turkey figs are swelling up like a balloon. Some figo preto starting to swell too. Keeping my fingers crossed.

You guys up north have it rough having to always fight the late springs and early winters.

Hey you could load up your fig trees in a uhaul, bring to Texas til after your fig harvest. :)
