FREEBIE ALERT w/pictures now

The two containers shown are freebies- the large one is a 200lb Cow Lick Tub bought from Feed stores most farmers throw them away.  They are probably 30-35 gallon size, hang a sign at your local farm and ranch supply store.  The small one is about 3 gallon size and comes from the Flower dept at Krogers Grocery, Ralphs in some areas.  They throw them away, my local store gets them in on Monday and Friday,

Both containers will hold water so if used for a plant make sure to drill lots of holes.  I use a 1" spade bit, drill slowly, the smaller bucket will break.  Both have Carbon Black for UV protection.

shown where?

I grow a lot of vegetables in those big tubs.  I checked one for the volume and it held 25 gallons of water.

AHHA I now have a reason to come to TEXAS.   :)

Nice score!!  Woo hoo!!

Get them while you can... As of two years ago the feed store near me are charging the ranchers $7/bucket deposit.

Nice size pots...they would cost a pretty penny if you had to buy them...nice find !!

Wow, $7, still a deal in my mind because of the thickness.  I think a 25 gal trade pot would still be close to that or more and they or so flimsy.  The ones from XMART, (Wallyworld, Target etc) are also light.

I got these Monday and they are great for mixing soil.

Danny my neighbor get the 3 gallon one for me at the store she works at. They get imported flowers in them. I use a hole saw instead of a spade bit that way they don't crack. Great little pots.
