Hi guys, I'm about to order a French Sugar cutting from a cultivar from New Zealand. They told me that this variety came from France. Is French Sugar the same as Celeste?? This is the picture that they posted on FB.
French Sugar is too general of a name to say the least. Technically you could end up with any of several varieties. Two official names from France that I'm aware of and have the word sugar in them are Sucre Vert and Sucrette. Both bear light colored figs and are offered by Baud. In the US the Celeste is sometimes called the "Sugar fig". It's impossible to predict what you'll get.
