From Cups To Pots

Several members have asked me how I up pot from the 32oz. deli cups to the 1gal. pots, so if a picture is worth a thousand words then maybe a video is worth 10,000 words.....Enjoy:

Nice vid Vince.

Very nice, Vince!  Great idea.  Videos make explanations so much easier.  Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for the video Vince. Very informative.

Nice video.

For what it's worth, many packaging 'peanuts' are no longer made of styrofoam but rather corn starch and other things that break down when they come in contact with water.

Gina,
I had that problem last year...I purchased the water soluable peanuts without realizing it, and after I watered them in, everything sunk down into the pot about two inches....I made sure this time that my peanuts were real styrofoam....we live and learn.    :)

Great Job Vince. i might have to look into doing the upside down cup thing. I up potted 5 figs and lost one, the one happend to be a RdB as well so i was sad. i will be waiting until walmart gets thiere garden center set up here in the next month to get my secret wepon for shocked plants. (super thrive) awsome stuff.

Hey Vince and ForeverFigs

Thanks for the tutorial - good demo on the upside down cups. keep the videos coming, I've enjoyed many of your videos on YouTube.

I break old styrofoam boxes into crumbs for this purpose. It is a very good idea.

Nice method, nice video. Looks like a lot goes into the preparation of the cup.

BLB....yes the cups takes some preparation....peel off the bottom of the cup with a sharp razor knife...burn drainage holes in the sides of the cup with a 1/4' soldering iron...and snap on the cap...
but now that I'm transfering a lot of my cups to 1gal. pots, I have a lot of used cups on hand, so I don't have to make up any more new ones.
