Frost advisory tonight

The first frost advisory of the season tonight into Tuesday morning.  I'll have the mini tunnel in action with pails of warm water to keep trees from chilling.  I still have fruit that  hasn't ripened, so I hope to extend the season long enough to ripen some figs.

Thanks everyone for all your great advice.

Wow, frost warning already?  And here we are in NC suffering with 90 degree weather the past 2 months!  However, the nights have started to get down in the late 50s and some of my prize trees do not like it at all!  If I lived up North, I'd have to have a greenhouse!  It can at least keep your trees in the 50s at night.  Good luck!  cheers,

We had nights in the 40's in July here in the Catskills (zone 5B).  I put plastic bags over everything this evening.  I still have trees with nearly ripened fruit...unlike last year whem I had nothing almost all of the seasonj.  My VdB is loaded.  Hope they make it.

Yay!  It is 6:15 AM.  It is 39 degrees and there is NO frost. Whew!

Good for u, C.J.  It's 33*F here, and I'm hoping it didn't get any lower overnight.  I put the cover on my tunnel and sealed it up well.  I don't  see any frost on the grass, or windows, so maybe we're OK.  I'll uncover the tunnel later this morning.
