Gallicia Negra on Ebay for identification

1)I have spent high prices on something and I become worried . Since lots of members in this forum are expert, I feel a need to ask for my plants identification . So when the plant arrive, I can return and get my money back if someone in here can point it out that is a fake one. If it happens to be a true variety as claimed , I will be very happy to give the seller a A+ ebayseller .

2) Regarding #3 picture about Vasilika Sika : My husband first bought  a Galicia Negra  without any back thought  (he made an offer to buy the Galicia Negra and the offer was accepted. He paid for it and the plant is in transit), then he came across another plant in auction with the same seller . It is Vasilika Sika . He wanted to bid on it, however through research, my husband discovered that tho one in auction is not the true one . He asked the seller about that and the seller admitted in Ebay message that his VS is not the very true one . But the auction is still going on, without him to add some justification in his description listing . That is the reason why my husband and I become suspicious of him .

There is two vs. the one he is selling is the beleclare one which is Stella or staton island bomb it is a great fig but not the real one from Greece. But since beleclare sold it as vs for so many years it is still called that. The vs has shorter stubby leaves

1 and 2 are one listing of a Galicia Negra, and 3 and 4 are another lisiting of a Galicia Negra, two different sellers. which GN did he buy?

I did post which one I bought and which one my husband bought, but somehow the posting got cut off the first part !!!! ?????

I bought the one in pictures #1 and #2 from one seller

My husband bought one Galicia Negra in pictures #4 and #5 from another seller who also has a listing of a Vasilia Sika

He never fruits any of his plants. I asked him one time about his red Italian and scilian red and asked if they were different strains or the same and he answered. I bought them as two different varieties. He is just more a less just a plant creator. He does not grow them for the fruit or he is not a collector. He just propagates plants. I think you would be better off buying from someone who knows exactly what they have and are selling.

Thank you for your reply .
Yes the first  1 and 2 pictures belong to figsrus
Pictures 3,4 belongs to plant creator
My question is are them both real GN ?  If someone can point out that they are not real GN I still have time to ask for my money back and return the plants. I do not wish to return them after one year discovering that they are not the variety that I have paid for

You bought the 1st and 2nd photo from myself.Cdeguida4 also bought a g/n from me and his happy with it.You should recieve it today or tommorrow. My galiacia negra originally came from Bass himself through a few sellers.

Your answer confuses me now . So far my husband and I together has paid for 2 GN from 2 different sellers .
You said that I bought 1 from you (pic1 and 2) . So you are figsrus  = cdeguida4 ?  . Then I feel better now .
The one my husband bought is from plant creator . Are you also plant creator = figsrus = cdeguida4 ?

if yes than I have nothing to worry . just waiting for both plants to arrive and have fun hehehe

can definitely vouch for Jeremy Exoticplants1, definitely happy with it

Thank you, Chris

we are all separate. I am Cdeguida4 which I do occasionally sell, I can vouch for exoticplants1, I have never bought from plant-creator (I have bid) but I have heard very good things

cdeguida=cgudech_kcxupyxvd
exoticplants1=figsrus
HooRay= plant-creator

OK now I got it .
Exoticplants1 is Jemery aka figrus whom I have bought a GN recently
cdeguida4 is Chris who also has bought GN from Jemery
Then who is plant creator ????

I believe there are at least 4 different figs going by the name of Vasilika Sika, for what it's worth.  Depends on your perspective to determine which one is "fake".

i have to go with Harvey on this one.
there are 4 types in greece.
3 sell mostly as commercial grade figs from the local nurseries.
and the 4th is rare and the real thing!!!
P.S.  none of the figs sold in USA are the real vasilika sika
one is a stella type. and the other is just not the real thing.
sorry... just my 2 cents.

Finally I have received the 2 Valicia Negra today. They were delivered at the same time by USPS

1) Picture 1 shows 2 identical boxes with different address .
The left box is damaged on top . Sender is figsrus = exoticplant1, a member of figs4fun
The right box, no damage . Sender is plant-creator , member of figs4fun ???? don't know
Observing from the outside both boxes show 4 roof nails at 4 corners in the low base of the box (to secure the inside pot)

2) Picture # 2 shows 2 plants standing side by side for comparison
Left plant (seller plant-creator) listed BIN #299.00 . Offer $250.00 . Sold for $250.00)
Right plant (seller figsrus) was in an auction . There were 18 bids . I placed a bid at the last minutes for $186.00 with max of $350.00 then changed to max $401.99 at the very last 30 seconds . Sold it for $186.00

3) Picture 3 : Close up : Main trunk of plant-creator GN is still young , tender . from top to bottom it looks sick and miserable (picture 4)

4) Picture 5. Another look when both trees standing side by side

You are Judges .
For me, deals are done, I will never go back to plant-creator

Ray(aka) plant creator is a member here and I have never once had any doubt in my mind that he wasn't 100% truthful and honest. I also know that he packs his trees well and arrive in good condition. Your tree from him is fine. Give a drink and keep indoors a few days it will perk back up. Remember you are buying on the internet and are not able to closely inspect the plant for flaws.I would definitely rethink not buting from him because of what you believe you are seeing. That's just my opinion give the guy a chance to handle it first without going to the forum.

I must chime in here. I have only bought 1 thing from plant creator and it was my GN. I paid a lot more than $186.00. It's the biggest one I've ever seen for sale. Anyway, we had great communication and everything went smooth. Plant arrived in great shape from Mississippi (I think) to NJ. Not a leaf was damaged. I would not be so quick to judge based on the shipped condition of 1 plant. I myself shipped figs on the same day. 1 took 4 days to arrive and was toasted when it got there. The other 4 took 5 days and were fine. Many things can happen in transit. Keep an open mind and good communication. In my situation the buyer was able to save the tree after removing all the leaves and using superthrive. I sent him another less valuable fig as just an apology even though he understood that it was a shipping problem, not a quality of plant problem. For me, a relationship is much more valuable than the price of a fig. That's just my 2 cents.

I bought two fig trees from Ray / plant creator. The martinenca rimada is doing great from him.I have tons of figs from it and the raspberry latte is starting to come around.

I have to say i have bought from both sellers and they are both great sellers you cant judge one plant from another. You seen the pics of the plants and you are paying for the variety. And both sell true to variety plants. Figs for fun is not a place to bash sellers in my opinion.

It looks like the wilted plant just had a rough ride getting to you. I would water it to settle the soil back around the roots and place it in the shade or as was mentioned in another post set it indoors for several day until it recovers.

I purchased 30 or so plants off ebay this year and received several in the condition of yours. After a watering and with several days rest they all recovered nicely.

This variety is in high demand at this time so that is what is driving the price and not necessarily the size of the tree.

Welcome to the world of growing fig trees and good luck on your future acquisitions.

I disagree Richie, members of F4F need to be aware of unscrupulous sellers on eBay. Both fig forums have exposed several, Harvey had a very important message to members and most members were thankful. This is not bashing, it is protecting members. In this case, the negative messages are probably unwarranted as most experienced members that have had several plants shipped can attest to the facts that the shipping process can wreak havoc on healthy plants, especially during hot summer days. I have heard nothing but wonderful reports on both of these members, although I have not received any plants from either so I can not give a first hand opinion.

Thank you Jerry for your suggestion .

As soon as I received the  plants, after taking their pictures, I watered them well , removed all their leaves and let them rest in a shade area .
After diner, I bathe them from top to bottom and ... play with them .

I have created a new topic " Play with me" , you are welcome to join me there for fun

I was just put off a little that they started this tread before they even got the plants. AND THE SELLERS ARE VERY HONEST TOO.

I agree Richie irritating as hell.

The main topic of this thread is asking expert people in Figs4fun to identify if the GN trees in auction are true Galicia Negra or not , but things leading to some members who took sides between sellers and buyer !
Up to date the answers to the main topic are still very vague ....

Regarding the sick GN (belonged to 1 seller) did not show any progress after sitting 3 days in a shade area and covered the top of the pot with wet papers .
Buyer requested a full refund . Seller accepted , suggesting buyer to ship it back with wet papers on top of the soil around the tree base
Buyer was ready to return the tree . However seller decided to reimburse the full amount and said that buyer can keep the tree
Let rest the case
Thank you Plant-creator .

Now, what am I going to do with this sick GN ??????
Throw it in the garbage bin ?
Oh NO NO NO . Please join me in the thread "Play With Me"
