Why hello all, its your friendly local Garden Whisperer here.
Over the past few months i have been very busy with projects and some persanol issues that have poped up but that is not to say that my heart has not been here among my friends.
First we have here a 30 Gal rain drum i drilled holes in for strawberries. makes em easy picking and i can fit 110 plants in such a small space. so here is a space saving idea.
secondly my hardy chicago that i was afraid that i may had over pruned pulled through winter with no damage whatsoever. and now has 17 new bracnches startibg from the 2 main trunk that left. looks to be doing wonderful.
3rd The first tree in the fist fig hedge has been planted this lone MvsB seems to be happ in its new home unde full sun. he will have some friends joining him soon at every 5 feet.
fourth on our list here is a purple magnolia fig that was top killed by winter but now has 29 and counting shoots comming from the roots in a bush like matter very fast. the desert king suffers a same fate. bothe were planted last year as cuttings and left unprotected to test for thier ability to cope with midwest winters.
and lastly got the green house up and going way behind schedual but finaly made it. got the misting system installed yesterday.
I hope you have enjoyed and maybe gained somthing you can use from this post. please share and lets work together to make this yet another wonderful year of freash fruits/vegies and FIGS yay.
