your unknown plant, as i recall, has been LOADED with figs. tell us about the taste :). i have a lot of black figs, and i'm hoping i can identify your unknown a bit later when my figs start coming in.
A is the unk. B is a vdb
A is black unknown. B is BMVS.
Answer Is:A= MBVSB= Black UnknownThey do look similar but there is a difference in taste. IMHO the MBVS is a little sweeter right now and the each have a distinctive taste
Matt Nice try shoot me an email if interested and I should have wood in Jan or Feb
Hey no far you guys that do this , your an hour ahead of me in time zone plus i was out purchasing potting mix.I will say this though Sal , after the discussions we had about your blk/unknown in mail i did guess right before scrolling down the page on that one it just looks familar to one of my plants in and out thats all and i cannot wait to taste next season for first time.
what about the taste vs mbvs?
Mike I just had my Argentinian neighbor over and we enjoyed a few figs I only had 4 MBVS and about a pound of black u/k and some LSU Gold I asked him for his opinion and he said they were both good each with a little different taste as far as the dark figs . we both agreed we like the dark figs better than LSU Gold. It is hard for me to describe but I leave my figs on till dead ripe and both varieties hold on tree very well If picked earlier not as sweet but also less flavor there is nothing I can compare to other than a berry grape type taste I'm sorry, that is best I can do. Maybe some one else will help out if they get ripe ones this season I could have left the ones in pic above on for an extra day but my wife doesn't like them as ripe as me
Thanks, Sal! Sent you an email.
